Breitling Top Time 810 Mark I 1966 (Box & Papers)

Model Code: 810
£6500.00
Increasingly sought after due to its bold design and desirable Venus 178 column movement, this 810 reference is one of Breitling’s most iconic additions to its Top Time collection. This particular model remains in fine condition with no signs of polishing. The stark black dial contrasts beautifully with the three ever-crisp white sub-dials, a timeless design incorporated first in 1964 by Heuer in their Carrera 2447NS model, yet priced considerably higher than its Breitling counterpart on the second-hand market. Distinctly this watch measures larger in comparison at 38mm, asserting a real presence on the wrist. 1964 marked the creation of the Top Time in Breitling’s pursuit of capturing a youthful demographic through the release of ‘ultra-modern chronographs’: an incentive championed first by the 810 reference. As this watch’s current acclamation proves, what was perceived as cutting-edge at the time has evolved into a timeless look for the current day. This watch will continue to be respected for its super clean aesthetic and its ability to be worn on any occasion. The movement of this Mark I edition can only be accessed through the dial, a factor soon changed several years later through incorporation of a clip back.
Importantly, this spectacular example is accompanied by its original box and sales guarantee dated 28/12/1966.
